How to use Collaborative Screening

Rayyan-style collaborative title and abstract screening — duplicate detection, tags, blinded decisions and conflict tracking — combined with ASReview-style active learning that re-orders the remaining records by relevance after every decision.

Before you start

Steps

1. 1

   Open Collaborative Screening

   From the workspace sidebar choose Collaborative Screening. On a phone, open the All menu and tap Collaborative Screening.

   Set up your inputs

   Rayyan-style collaborative title and abstract screening — duplicate detection, tags, blinded decisions and conflict tracking — combined with ASReview-style active learning that re-orders the remaining records by relevance after every decision. Start with the smallest realistic input so you can check the output before scaling up.

3. 3

   Run it

   Run the tool and check the first output: import from openalex search, your library, or ris, bibtex and csv files.

4. 4

   Review what came back

   Work through the results: automatic duplicate removal by doi and title similarity; blinded decisions per screener, with conflicts and cohen's kappa; active-learning ranking trained in your browser, no tokens spent.

5. 5

   Save or export

   Save the configuration as a preset if you will repeat it, and export the output when you need it outside SciExpert. Your inputs persist across refreshes and sign-ins.

Tips

• • Start with a small input, verify the output, then scale up.
• • Save a preset once the configuration works so you can reuse it across papers.
