How to use Reference Manager

One library the whole workspace reads from

Save papers from search or add them by DOI. Your library feeds extraction, screening, consensus and writing, so nothing has to be re-entered.

Before you start

  • DOIs, or papers saved from AI Search

Steps

  1. 1

    Open Reference Manager

Sidebar → Reference Manager. This library is the shared source of truth for the rest of the workspace.

  2. 2

    Add papers

Paste a DOI to fetch metadata automatically, or save records directly from AI Search results.

  3. 3

    Organise into collections

Group papers per project or per review question so downstream tools operate on the right subset.

  4. 4

    Add your own notes

Notes stay attached to the record and travel with it into extraction and writing.

  5. 5

    Export when needed

Export the library as CSV, or use BibTeX Workbench and the Citation Generator for reference lists.

Tips

  • Deduplicate before screening — Bulk PDF Ingestion flags likely duplicates by DOI and title.

Troubleshooting

A DOI returns nothing

Check for a trailing full stop or a URL prefix. Enter the bare DOI, for example 10.1000/xyz123.
