How to use Systematic Review

Screening and PRISMA counts you can defend

Set your inclusion and exclusion criteria, screen records with AI-prepared evidence for each criterion, and get a PRISMA flow generated from your own counts.

Before you start

  • A review question
  • Inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Records in your library

Steps

  1. 1

    Open Systematic Review

    Sidebar → Systematic Review.

  2. 2

    Write the protocol first

State inclusion and exclusion criteria before you look at any record. This is what makes the screening defensible.

  3. 3

    Screen record by record

AI prepares cited evidence per criterion; the include or exclude decision stays yours, and each exclusion gets a reason.

  4. 4

    Reconcile with a second screener

Use Collaborative Screening or Dual-Extractor Reconciliation when two reviewers must agree.

  5. 5

    Generate the PRISMA flow

Counts come from your own screening decisions, so the diagram matches the audit trail.

Tips

  • Pilot your criteria on 20 records before screening the full set.

Troubleshooting

PRISMA numbers do not add up

Every excluded record needs a reason recorded; unreasoned exclusions are not counted in the flow.
