How to use Discovery Network

Semantic Scholar-backed discovery: start from one paper and expand through references, citations and similar work to build a reading list you can defend.

Before you start

Steps

1. 1

   Open Discovery Network

   From the workspace sidebar choose Discovery Network. On a phone, open the All menu and tap Discovery Network.

   Set up your inputs

   Semantic Scholar-backed discovery: start from one paper and expand through references, citations and similar work to build a reading list you can defend. Start with the smallest realistic input so you can check the output before scaling up.

3. 3

   Run it

   Run the tool and check the first output: semantic scholar graph search across references and citations.

4. 4

   Review what came back

   Work through the results: similar-work expansion in the style of connected papers; add anything you find straight to your library; influential-citation signals surfaced per paper.

5. 5

   Save or export

   Save the configuration as a preset if you will repeat it, and export the output when you need it outside SciExpert. Your inputs persist across refreshes and sign-ins.
