How to use Qualitative Coding Studio

Import transcripts, build a codebook, highlight passages against codes and export coded extracts for your qualitative write-up.

Steps

   Open Qualitative Coding Studio

   From the workspace sidebar choose Qualitative Coding Studio. On a phone, open the All menu and tap Qualitative Coding Studio.

   Set up your inputs

   Import transcripts, build a codebook, highlight passages against codes and export coded extracts for your qualitative write-up. Start with the smallest realistic input so you can check the output before scaling up.

   Run it

   Run the tool and check the first output: transcript and document import.

   Review what came back

   Work through the results: hierarchical codebook with colours and memos; highlight-to-code with per-code extract views; export coded extracts and code frequencies.

   Save or export

   Save the configuration as a preset if you will repeat it, and export the output when you need it outside SciExpert. Your inputs persist across refreshes and sign-ins.
