How to use Statistical Modeling

Longitudinal, clustered and time-to-event data handled with the right model — and explained in language your committee or reviewers will follow.

Steps

1. 1

   Open Statistical Modeling

   From the workspace sidebar choose Statistical Modeling. On a phone, open the All menu and tap Statistical Modeling.

   Set up your inputs

   Longitudinal, clustered and time-to-event data handled with the right model — and explained in language your committee or reviewers will follow. Start with the smallest realistic input so you can check the output before scaling up.

3. 3

   Run it

   Run the tool and check the first output: mixed-effects models (lmm, glmm) for longitudinal and clustered data.

4. 4

   Review what came back

   Work through the results: survival analysis: kaplan-meier, cox regression, competing risks, parametric models; generalized estimating equations (gee) for repeated measures; machine learning for research: random forests, gradient boosting, svm with interpretability.

5. 5

   Save or export

   Save the configuration as a preset if you will repeat it, and export the output when you need it outside SciExpert. Your inputs persist across refreshes and sign-ins.

• • Start with a small input, verify the output, then scale up.
• • Save a preset once the configuration works so you can reuse it across papers.
